Co-op Governance

Dill Pickle Food Co-op doesn't operate a store yet, but we are working on it! We are moving from the conceptual to the business planning phase of our co-op development.

Like others around the world, our co-op adheres to several basic Co-op Principles, which trace their roots back to the first consumer co-op in Rochdale, England.

We are currently an Illinois not-for-profit corporation and are working to re-incorporate under the Minnesota Cooperative Law, which we feel is friendly to co-ops.

Beyond the Minnesota Co-op Law, the remaining framework for our organizational structure is set forth in our Articles of Incorporation and our Bylaws (links coming soon).

Dill Pickle is owned and governed by its members who annually elect a 9-member board of directors to oversee activity and set policy.
